Epic V14 officially announced
Epic has offically introduced the new surfski Epic V14. We have seen photos of a new surfski from Epic with no markings circulating for a couple of weeks. As we speculated it was the Epic V14. The Epic V14 is designed to be really fast in small to mid sized water conditions. It has sleeker shape and narrower waterline compared to the V10 and V12 and also less stable. So the targeted group is flat water paddlers and expert surfski paddlers up to 3-5 ft (1-1.5 meter) surf conditions.
Greg Barton and Oscar Chalupsky has worked a lot of the ergonomics to optimize the paddling position. Team Epic paddlers will test it carefully in Hong Kong and some of them will taking part in the Hong Kong Steecase Dragon Run this weekend. It will be really interesting to follow.
Rob Mousley at surfski.info has tested the Epic V14 in Hong Kong. He stated earlier today: “What a day… Paddled the new Epic V14 (“a few notches above my pay grade”! But I didn’t fall out at least); paddled to the Kissing Whales again (great runs back) and then hiked the Dragon’s Back… Awesome day in Hong Kong!”
