Surfski demo day in Göteborg

In spring last year some local surfski (and barbeque) enthusiasts in Goteborg decided to invite all surfski dealers for a surfski demonstration day. The aim with the demo day was to get a chance to try new models from different manufacturers and to increase the general interest for surfski. It has been a problem to try different models and compare them to each other at the same time. We do not have that many dealers in Sweden and they are spread out over the country. The first two demo days turned out well and it is now a returning event, both in spring and fall. The event is free of charge both for the participants and for the dealers. It is only promoted at Facebook, some blogs and at the local paddling clubs. Today was the first really cold, rainy and windy day for the season. Maybe not the best weather to attract first timers. But still there were both new and returning visitiors to the event. I estimate the number of participants to approx 60, pretty good considering the weather.

But the cold and rainy weather was perfect for me. I tried the cold range pants and the long sleeve top from Vaikobi. I did also test two surfskis, the Allwave CX and the Fenn Blue-Fin. The Allwave CX is really beautiful in my opinion but I have actually never tried it before. It was a really nice acquaintance. I will test it even more during the week to come. The Fenn Blue-Fin was stable, safe but still fun in downwind. A perfect surfski for beginners.

Was the last the day of summer yesterday? Today it was chilly, rainy but also windy? :)

The Epic, Carbonology Sports, Allwave and Nordic Kayak dealers were here. Some private surfskis from other brands were also availble for test paddling.
